Sick Stray Dog Loves Toys

Bella the dog can’t talk, but if she could she’d have quite the tale to tell. Her life clearly hasn’t been easy, based on her condition. The German shepherd was found by a good Samaritan on the side of the highway in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was painfully thin and missing most of her fur. The individual stopped and brought her to a local SPCA where she was transferred to the Char-Wills German Shepherd Rescue. The individual who stopped to help her said Bella jumped right into the car the moment he stopped. She was a sweet, trusting dog despite all she’d been through in her short life.

Bella just loved to be around people, almost as much as she loved tennis balls. She was given her own ball and despite being in terrible condition, she was so excited to see a ball. It’s safe to say she never really had many toys before. While no one knows where she came from, it’s guessed that she was used for breeding and then dumped on the street when she developed a skin condition. She also is roughly 20 pounds underweight, which is believed to be from a lack of food—not from any sort of health condition. So, she’s being given plenty of food and treats and is on medication to help her fur grow back.

She was neglected for quite some time, as it is believed she is seven years old. Her owners could have taken her to the shelter, but they simply dumped her instead. She’s been living in a foster home with other dogs and cats and she recently became a foster failure. Her foster family is going to adopt her because they’ve fallen in love with her sweet personality. Despite all she’s gone through in her life, she is still very trusting of humans and just loves to meet people and of course play with balls.
