Pampered Pup Flies In Style

Grace Higgins | June 11th, 2019

A woman named April Easterwood Thornton took a flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Newark, New Jersey recently. When she boarded the plan, she saw something unusual on her way to her seat. While pulling her luggage through the first class cabin she saw a cute, furry little face staring up at her from one of the seats. As a frequent traveler, it is common for April to see service dogs with their owners on flights, but this dog was not working. She was just enjoying her own special seat in the first class section of the plane. It was amazing to see the dog enjoying the experience, so she snapped a photo. The little dog looked at her curiously as she passed and went to her own seat in the back of the plane.

April was disappointed she could not seat near the adorable little dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She did notice, however, that the dog was perfectly behaved throughout the long flight from Atlanta to New Jersey. It seemed it was not the first time the dog had flown, and she sat quietly in her seat for the entire flight. April knew the dog must hold special place in her owner’s heart to have her very own first class seat on the plane. Little did she know, she would see the dog again—and understand how much her dad really loved her.

April went to the baggage carousel to pick up her luggage when she saw the dog’s face again. This time, it was in the most delightful place: on the side of a custom printed suitcase. The dog was there again with its owner, who claimed the custom suitcase with delight. Then, he and his suitcase and his pampered pup headed out of the airport. April got photos of it all—successfully making the little pup a star.
