On a night where Isaiah Thomas was lauded by the Boston Celtic faithful, his new team, the Denver Nuggets rolled to a 114-105 comeback win at the TD Garden that further demonstrates just how good they are. Thomas only played seven minutes and didn’t offer much, but the crowd gave him a ton of respect and appreciation for what he had done in his two years for the Celtics.
As for the game, it was dominated by Nikola Jokic and Kyrie Irving. The Boston point guard scored 30 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Nuggets took the fourth quarter by nine to pull away for the victory. Jokic finished the game with 13 rebounds and 21 points, and along the way they also clinched a spot in the playoffs, something that they had not been able to do since back in 2013. A banner night for Denver, but don’t count on it being the last.
