Famed bounty hunter, Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman gave an update on his wife’s cancer battle. Beth Chapman,51, had throat cancer in 2017, went through treatment with several rounds of chemo therapy, and was declared ‘free of cancer’ later in the year. Beth and Dog flew from their home in Hawaii early this week, so Chapman could undergo emergency surgery. She’s currently being treated at hospital to the stars, Cedar Sinai in West Los Angeles. She had a large tumor removed from her throat. The tumor made it hard for Chapman to breath. She also had a breathing tube put in, and is going through testing.
Duane was leaving Mr. Chow’s eatery with his daughter Lyssa Chapman and gave an update to a camera crew from TMZ. He said his wife ‘is not doing good’, the doctors are conducting tests to see if the cancer has spread. Chapman indicated that the doctors do believe the cancer has spread. He said he appreciated all the support from the fans, and asked for prayer. His daughter Lyssa also thanked the fans, “we really appreciate the prayers of our fans, the support of our fans, we are all so devastated.”
Beth’s cancer struggle was highlighted on A&E with a special, ‘Dog and Beth the Fight For Their Life’ last year. Beth said she never smoked, however there is speculation, that her husband’s very heavy smoking habit may have contributed to Beth’s medical issues, via second hand smoke. Beth had a large growth removed from her throat earlier this week, and a biopsy revealed the tumor was cancer. A source at the hospital, said a prognosis for Beth is not possible at this time, until they determine weather the cancer has spread. The Chapman’s family attorney, Andrew Brettler said ‘Beth’s condition is serious.’
