In England, a dog was seen wandering alongside the highway. The dog, a husky mix, did not seem to be fazed by all the cars driving by at a high rate of speed. However, the dog decided to cross a lane of traffic and was hit by a car. He was thrown from the car, but luckily a traffic officer was nearby and stopped to help the wandering dog. The traffic officer, a woman named Hannah Moffit, did everything she could to save the life of the dog who was later named Thor. Hannah cradled Thor in her arms and a man stopped his car to protect both her and the dog from oncoming traffic. Soon the dog warden arrived and Thor was taken to the Saint Leonard Veterinary Hospital for the help he so desperately needed.

When Thor arrived, the staff scanned him for a microchip and he had one—and owners. When the owners were contacted, they ask that he be euthanized. The veterinary staff believed he had a fighting chance, so they asked his owners to reconsider their choice. They didn’t want to pay the bills associated with his care, so they transferred ownership to the veterinary hospital. The staff knew the care for Thor would be expensive, but they knew he was worth it. Thor had x-rays and the showed he had severe injuries to one of his legs and he had surgery to repair them. Then, someone from 8 Below Husky Rescue stepped in to take Thor in so he could heal.

Thor was placed on strict bed rest and then something surprising happened: Thor wasn’t up for adoption yet, but he received an application. It was from Hannah, the woman who saved Thor’s life. Hannah says she knew Thor was meant to be a member of her family the moment she saw him on the side of the road. While he is not yet ready for his forever home, but once he is healed the rescue group is confident Hannah is the perfect fit for him.
