Dog Gets Fancy Outfits For Tail

Grace Higgins | August 11th, 2019

A sweet dog named Sophie was adopted by her family just over a year ago. Since then she has been a beloved member of the family. However, when she first arrived in her new home she was very scared of everything. With the help and encouragement of her family, she was able to move past her fears. She is a very loving dog, says her owner Debbie Haase Krueger. Sophie always wants to be near someone and loves to lick the face of anyone who gets close to her. But recently, Sophie’s need to be close to her family actually led to some harm. Sophie was sitting at her mom’s feet when they both walked out of a room in the house. Her mom didn’t realize her tail was in the doorframe and she accidently closed the door on it.

Sophie yelped when it happened but then acted like she was okay, but her family soon realized she was actually injured. The family rushed their sweet dog to the vet where she had to stay for a day to have surgery to stitch up her injured tail. Despite all she had gone through, Sophie was still her sweet, happy self. The vet bandaged up Sophie’s tail and sent her home but her family said after 10 days her tail wasn’t healing. They brought her back to the vet and they were told something impossible needed to happen so she could heal: she couldn’t wag her tail. Sophie is a very happy girl and that was going to be just about impossible for her.

Sophie is very happy and loves her family so much that she is almost constantly wagging her tail. They wanted her to get better, though so they asked the vet for advice and his response was hilarious. He suggested they put pants on Sophie. They started with boxer shorts, but they were too short. So, they found a pair of leggings and some jeggings that fit her like a glove. She doesn’t love the pants, but her family says they are doing the job and after a few weeks her tail has finally healed.
