A stray dog was all alone outside, whimpering and crying and very cold. He was so confused about his predicament that he did all he knew to do: he made himself a bed out of a pile of snow. He was huddled next to an electric pole and hoping for someone to come along and help him. The good news is that someone did: a good Samaritan spotted the dog and contacted the Stray Rescue of St. Louis organization that helps rescue dogs. The dog was small and frail and obviously needed help, so the group sent out a rescue team to find him.

The moment they spotted the dog it was clear he was in need of their help. He began to cry when they approached, almost asking for help in his own way. They gave him a name: Weezer, and they picked him up out of the snow, so he could get help. He went directly into the organization’s trauma center and it took some time, but he eventually calmed down. He was so happy to be indoors that he was happy to receive affection and attention from humans. It was clear that Weezer had been through a lot in his short life. He had no tag or microchip and had a large wound under one of his arms. It appeared that he had a harness or rope on his body at some point and it was so tight it created the wound.

Weezer was able to rest comfortably inside in a real bed and then they were able to get him a foster home. He spends a lot of his time cuddling on the couch and burrowing under the blankets to get warm. From this point forward, he never has to worry about staying warm ever again. Once he’s ready, Weezer will be up for adoption into a loving home.
