Dog Abandoned with Toys and Bed

When a dog named Wall-E found himself in the Maricopa County Animal Shelter, he was a young dog. He was adopted from the shelter in 2015 and the Labrador Retriever mix had a great life with his new family, including all the toys and treats he could possibly want. Then, the day came that all of that changed for him. The dog, who was then six years old, watched as his owners took all those toys and even his bed and put them in trash bags. His owner cried as he was driven back to the shelter where his owner said goodbye to Wall-E.

He was not only back at the shelter, but he was alone again. The poor dog was so sad and incredibly confused by his predicament. Sadly, the family who had once loved him and cared for him was no longer able to do so, which is why he was given back to the shelter. His family did not have enough time for him, so he went back.

He was unable to keep his bed and his toys in the shelter, adding to his depressive state. Even worse, it was hard for potential adopters to see past the trauma he was feeling. While he was once a happy, sweet dog with an outgoing personality, Wall-E was now standoffish and defensive. However, the shelter staff knew he just needed a chance to get out of his shell. He sat in the shelter for two months before they came up with a plan: they posted his story on Facebook. That’s where a woman named Lynn Lee read his story, saw his photos, and then fell in love with him. Wall-E has been settling in nicely in his new home, where he has his own bed, toys, and a doggy brother to love!
