Disney Channel Star Cameron Boyce Dies From Medical Condition

On July 6th, 20-year-old Cameron Boyce passed away in his sleep. He was a rising star on Disney Channel, with roles in The Descendants and Jessie. His family confirmed his passing in a brief statement, “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”

Boyce completed production of The Descendants3 last year, which is debuting this August 3rd. He starred in this movie with Booboo Stewart, Dove Cameron, and Sophia Carson. Even more, he worked on soon-to-be-released projects such as HBO’s Mrs. Fletcher and Ultimate Spider-Man. Disney’s CEO has released an official statement on Twitter “The Walt Disney Company mourns the loss of #CameronBoyce, who was a friend to so many of us, and filled with so much talent, heart, and life, and far too young to die. Our prayers go out to his family and his friends.” Boyce was also known for his philanthropic work with the Thirst Project, a non-profit that raises awareness on the Global Water Crisis.

Since the announcement, celebs have been sharing their mourning and memories of Boyce. He was known for his role in Grown Ups and Grown Ups2 with Adam Sandler, who took over social media and shared, “Too young. Too Sweet. Too Funny,” his Twitter post reads. One of Boyce’s former co-stars in Jessie, Charles Eaten, shared his condolences on a Twitter thread as well, “It was a joy to work with him on JESSIE, as it was with all the wonderful young stars of that beloved show. They were as close as actual brothers and sisters to one another, and still are, and my heart breaks for them today”
