Abandoned Dog Tries Chasing After Owner

Grace Higgins | May 9th, 2019

A home security camera caught a truly heartbreaking scene one day recently in San Antonio, Texas recently. There was no one around, but the camera told a very sad tale. A woman appears to be taking her dog for a walk, when she suddenly stops with the pit bull, who is brindle in color, and walks up the driveway. The dog sits patiently as its owner ties the leash to a basketball hoop and even appears to be wagging its tail. But that all changes when the dog realizes what is happening: the woman walks away, leaving the dog all alone. The dog can be seen trying to chase after her owner, but cannot because she is tied to the basketball pole.

The dog tries several times to run after her owner but cannot move. Luckily, the homeowner was away for a short period of time while running errands and when they returned they found the frightened dog—but there was no note. So, the homeowner brought the sweet pup to the local animal shelter, where she has made a great impression on everyone who meets her. The staff says she is very sweet, energetic, and loving and no one knows why she was abandoned. She also has great manners, is good at walking on a leash and even knows basic commands like sit and stay.

Despite all she has gone through, the dog who they named Takis, is so outgoing and sweet that it only took 24 hours for someone to submit an application to adopt her. The sweet dog needs to be spayed, get her vaccinations, and be microchipped, but once all that is finished she will be ready for her forever home. Authorities are still trying to locate the woman in the video who abandoned sweet Takis.
