Homeless Man Reunites With Dog

Grace Higgins | September 24th, 2019

A man named Anthony Rogers does not have much. What he lacks in material possessions, however, he makes up for with love. He is an artist in Tennessee and sadly, has fallen on tough times. He is struggling and he is homeless, but he has never been alone. He has had his loyal companion, a dog named Bobo, by his side through good times and bad. He may not have much, but he always makes sure Bobo is cared for no matter what. However one morning recently, he woke up and realized he was all alone. His beloved Bobo was missing. So he began a desperate search for him, making flyers and trying to find him.

Then an employee at the Memphis Animal Services realized a dog that had just entered the shelter looked just like Anthony’s dog Bobo. They contacted him to come see if the stray dog was his Bobo and he arrived at the shelter to check. The reunion between the pair left no doubt in anyone’s mind—the dog was Bobo. Anthony and Bobo were so happy to see each other and it was a beautiful moment for the staff at the shelter. It was so joyous and happy to reunite the dog and man who clearly had a beautiful bond.

While Anthony works to get back on his feet, his friends at the shelter are helping him get care for Bobo. They neutered Bobo, got him vaccinations and a microchip, and made sure he was healthy. They gave him a year’s supply of heartworm prevention, dog food, leash, harness, collar, and an ID tag. They were happy that Bobo was healthy and in the meantime, a GoFundMe has been created for the pair: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-anthony-and-bobo-get-back-on-their-feet?fbclid=IwAR39aiHPQ_SF9HRYrHC6II5NoTz0qsOjOaO_KVjdWHogea1qkm3NXb1oUCg

The funds will be used to help get Anthony back on his feet so he can be sure both he and Bobo are well cared for.
